INTERVIEW BY AFYA BUZZ PROGRAM BY TALANTA INSTITUTE

AFYA BUZZ is an online TV program hosted by Talanta Institute, aiming at strengthening health journalism and filling in the big knowledge gap in this space. Through the show the hosts aim at educating communities on better ways of improving their health outcomes. This online programme led by Dr. Caroline Mukoma also aims at educating people on various health topics, discussing the various interventions and sharing human stories on health and wellbeing.

During the interview, I shared incredible insights on public health especially around COVID-19 which is the current pandemic the world is grappling with. I also shared about my recent research publication on mHealth Interventions in Augmenting Universal Health Coverage. As the world is reeling from the shocks of COVID-19, access to health care services is greatly disrupted. There is a growing body of need to leverage the mobile technologies to deliver health remotely. My research is providing recommendation on how mhealth technologies can augment UHC, thereby ensuring that people can still access health services even during unprecedented times such as this.

I also had a chance to connect with other health professionals also interviewed by the program. We discussed extensively on how we can improve the health outcomes of our people.
