New Episode Alert! Understanding NCDs, Risk Factors, and the Role of Exercise

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death globally, responsible for over 41 million deaths each year—equivalent to 74% of all deaths worldwide. These diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and chronic respiratory illnesses, are primarily driven by lifestyle factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, tobacco use, and excessive alcohol consumption.

Despite their devastating impact, NCDs are largely preventable through lifestyle modifications, including regular physical exercise. Engaging in physical activity has been proven to reduce the risk of NCDs, improve mental well-being, and enhance overall quality of life.
